2024 TOPPS SERIES 1 BASEBALL CHECKLIST, TEAM SET LISTS AND DETAILS

2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball kicks off a new card season with an all-encompassing checklist that includes the standard base set and lots of different inserts, parallels, autographs and memorabilia cards. While it’s not officially part of the set, there’s also that thing called tradition that comes with every flagship Topps Baseball release.

2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball Checklist Overview

This year, the base set is 350 cards. Veterans are joined by what should prove to be a deep rookie crop. Future Stars, League Leaders and team cards are among the subsets.

The parallels lineup is a big one and includes several exclusives:

  • Gold Foil – 1:2 jumbo packs
  • Rainbow Foil – 1:10 packs
  • Royal Blue – 1:10 retail packs (retail only)
  • Yellow – 2 per hanger box (hanger boxes only)
  • Team Color
  • True Photo
  • Gold – /2024
  • Blue Foil – /999
  • Purple Foil – /799
  • Green Foil – /499
  • Orange Foil – /299
  • Red Foil – /199
  • Vintage Stock – /99
  • Independence Day – /76
  • Black – /73 (hobby and hobby jumbo only)
  • Father’s Day Powder Blue – /50
  • Mother’s Day Hot Pink – /50
  • Yellow Crackle – /50 (hanger boxes only)
  • Memorial Day Camo – /25
  • Platinum – 1/1
  • Printing Plates – 1/1

    INDEPENDENCE DAY -/76

True Photo cards should be instantly recognizable. That’s because they remove all design elements from the front leaving just a full-bleed photograph.

New First Card parallels represent the first one of that card’s production run. In the 1990s, Stadium Club First Day Issue parallels covered an entire day of printing. These 2024 Topps Baseball parallels have just one copy each and it’s the first made.

These aren’t all of the parallels. Like 2023 Topps Update, value blaster boxes come with three holiday-themed parallels. This time, Easter and spring are the inspiration. Combining to land three per blaster, these parallels include:

  • Holiday
  • Eggs – 1:21 packs
  • Rabbits – 1:56 packs
  • Flowers – /50
  • Umbrella – /10
  • Watering Can – /5
  • Birds – 1/1

As far as variations go, 2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball sees the return of Golden Mirror Variations where every base card will have an SSP.

2024 marks the 35th anniversary of 1989 Topps Baseball. In keeping with flagship continuity, the set becomes the inspiration for a new set of inserts. The design sticks with the original but the cards feature a mix of current players and retired stars. Parallels include Blue (600 copies each), Black (/299), Real One (/89) that are on retro stock similar to Heritage, Gold (/75), Red (/10) and Platinum (1/1).

1989 Topps Foilboard cards are also available, although they’re exclusive to retail mega boxes. Gold Foil (/50), Orange Foil (/25), Red Foil (/5) and Black Foil (1/1) versions exist, too.

2023 All-Topps Team names the best at each position while 2023 Greatest Hits highlights the season’s top offensive performances.

Grand Gamers and Superstar Blueprint are among the other inserts.

2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball Superstar Blueprints Aaron Judge

All four of these have the same parallels: Blue, Black (/299), Gold (/75), Red (/10) and Platinum (1/1). Some cards from Superstar Blueprint, 2023 Greatest Hits and Grand Gamers have autographs as well numbered to 25 or fewer.

Heavy Lumber returns for another year. These come printed on woodgrain stock and have 500 copies each.

2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball Retail-Exclusive Inserts

Some inserts on the 2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball checklist has some inserts that are only in retail packs. These start with another installment of Stars of the MLB. Landing one per retail pack, this set will continue through all three 204 Topps Baseball flagship releases, expanding in Series 2 and Update Series. Red (/75), Black (/25) and Platinum (1/1) parallels are available. There are also Stars of the MLB Chrome (1:10 retail packs) that have Red Refractors (/75), Black Refractors (/25) and Superfractors (1/1).

Topps Mega Stars are only in mega boxes. Foil parallels include Green (/99), Purple (/75), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and Foilfractor (1/1).

Autographs and Memorabilia Cards

The 1989 Topps theme carries over to autographs. These are signed on-card and mix rookies, veterans and retired players. Black (/199) and Gold (/50) are among the parallels. The checklist also has 1989 Topps Baseball Relics with their own Black (/199), Gold (/50) and Red (/25) versions.

2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball 1989 Autographs Mike Trout

The all-encompassing Baseball Stars Autographs return. Black (/199), Gold (/50), Red (/25) and Platinum (1/1) versions can be found as well. Baseball Stars Dual Autographs have no more than 10 copies each.

The 2023 playoffs are highlighted in relics (/99 or less), autographs (/50 or less) and autographed relics (/50 or less) under both the Postseason Performance and World Champion banners.

Major League Material add more relics to the product. In addition to Black (/199), Gold (/50 or less) and Red (/25 or less) parallels, there are autographed versions that have a max of 50 copies each.

Topps Reverence returns. Exclusive to hobby and hobby jumbo packs, these combine on-card signatures with patch swatches. Base versions have 10 copies each with parallels landing in Red (/5) and Platinum (1/1).
